Nikita Mazepin has been announced as the first Haas driver for 2021 signing a multi-year deal with the American team. Mazepin currently races in Formula 2 and sits third in the championship behind only Ilott and Schumacher with 162 points with one event and two races (sprint and feature) left to go.

Mazepin will become the fourth Russian driver to race in F1 after Vitaly Petrov, Sergey Sirotkin and current Alpha Tauri driver Daniil Kvyat.

I look forward to seeing what Mazepin can do in Formula One with Haas and hope they can find some form and start competing for some proper points. With the signing of Mazepin there are now only limited seats available in F1 including the second Haas seat, the second Red Bull seat and of course the drive alongside Bottas at Mercedes but no one counts that because it's hared to imagine Hamilton wont be racing at the Silver Arrows next year.
