In this 26 part series of posts I will be going through the alphabet and for each letter, a profile piece on an obscure driver - some you may have heard of before some you may never knew even sat in an F1 car let alone raced one. I have chosen a driver for each letter choosing them based on their surnames.

Unser is an American racer from a family with a rich racing history especially in the United States where the Unser family won the Indy 500 a record nine times. Bobby Unser is only the second Unser to try his hand at Formula One after his brother Jerry Unser Jr raced for one race in 1958. Fast forward to 1968 and Bobby Unser is making his F1 debut with the BRM team at the 1968 Italian Grand Prix where he would in fact fail to start - luckily for Unser it wasn't over in F1 just yet as at the 1968 US Grand Prix he managed to start and race for 35 of the 108 lap race before an engine failure caused his BRM to fail and put him out of his second and last race in F1.
