In this 26 part series of posts I will be going through the alphabet and for each letter, a profile piece on an obscure driver - some you may have heard of before some you may never knew even sat in an F1 car let alone raced one. I have chosen a driver for each letter choosing them based on their surnames.

Quester entered two races in Formula One in two different years the first in 1969 at the German Grand Prix - a race which he failed to start as he was still classed as an F2 driver which meant had he finished in the points paying positions they would not have counted. The race was won by Jacky Ickx. That weekend also saw the loss of German driver Gerhard Mitter who was involved in a fatal accident during practice. Both Mitter and Quester where driving for BMW.

Then in 1974 Quester made a one off return to Formula One for his home race the Austrian Grand Prix - this time he managed to finish the race in ninth place, three laps down in his Surtees to race winner Carlos Reutemann. Quester finished that race in front of drivers such as Graham Hill, Ronnie Peterson, Jacky Ickx and Emerson Fittipaldi.
